Performance evaluation (Case Study Sample) Content: Author:Course Title:Instructor:Date:Case Study: Companys Performance Evaluation ProcessBackground Statement Allisons career dilemma began soon after she got a post as a health care manager at a leading dentistry firm. Dr. Gable, the general manager, decides to consult the services of a professional dentist to handle all overall matters in a bid to streamline organizations operations. However, the new dentist is not passionate about the job and soon becomes a great liability to the firm. Allison gets concerned about the downward spiral that the firm faces due to mismanagement and low employees moraleProblem Statement The major problem that the firm faced began when Dr. Gable hired the services of the professional dentist without conducting due diligence to determine the value that the services of the professional will bring into the company. The management took long to note that the new dentist was not passionate about service delivery but rather was only interested in drawing huge salary from the diminishing resources owned by the firm. There was no attempt on the dentists side to deliver his end of the bargain by working towards meeting the profits goals as set out by the management. The problem was further exacerbated by low employee morale as evidenced by the silent approach that Allison adopted.ALL: Our role (office manager). The role of the office manager should be aimed at ensuring that there is motivation among all employees and cultivate a sense of team work that will ensure that all employees aim at achieving organizational goals and objectives.Organizational strengthsThe greatest strength for the company would come from accelerated employee morale. This can only be achieved through performance appraisals. It would be to the benefit of the company if all employees work hard to ensure that the profit base of the company grows as set out in the objectives. The gains obtained should then be reflected by awarding employees for their effort and make them feel to be part of the companys success. Another major source of strength comes from outsourcing for more professionals to bring in new ideas and knowledge to the companys workforce. Organizational weaknessesThe major weakness comes from lack of coherence in company operations and this largely results from low morale among the employees. Failure to hire employees based on their output is another major weakness. It would be prudent to employ personnel who will be passionate in achieving company objectives. There also seems to be poor organizational management in monitoring the balance between company profit bases compared to the liabilities. This is resulting in low profits which do not correlate with the high revenue expenses.Alternative and Recommended SolutionsIt is important to make all employees involved in the pursuit of organizational goals and targets. People such as Allison seem to be passionate about their roles in the company and any motivation on their effo rts will be necessary in placing the company o...

The Elders Chapel - 1210 Words

Avery Heights is a community nursing home in a park like setting in the town of Hartford. I have been a volunteer worker for two years and almost every day I visit this magnificent place. My attendance began when I was a high school student looking to complete community service work mandatory for every student. Ever since my first visit, I have thoroughly enjoyed assisting the residents living in Avery Heights throughout my high school experience and beyond. Whether spending time with dementia and Alzheimer’s patient or enjoying the twist and turns of the puzzle solving and Friday Bingo games with the healthy residents, I developed a sense of compassion, love, and gratitude toward them. My attraction to the Heights was mainly because of volunteering. I helped residents with any technological issues that they faced, from fixing old VCR players so they could watch their favorites 90s TV shows to teaching them how to access the nursing home Wi-Fi and creating an email account whi ch were a truly rewarding experiences. During a cold Saturday night, I informed my volunteer coordinator Jackie, a music therapist researching the impact of music on Alzheimer’s patients that I would like to attend the Sunday service prayer to gain a new prospective about a faith to which I had little to no exposure. Jackie welcomed me with a smile and agreed that my arrival in the morning would be expected. My main motivation was curiosity for learning and understanding a different religion other thanShow MoreRelatedThe s Expulsion Of Adam And Eve From Eden1276 Words   |  6 PagesChristianity and warn against evil in the church and in society. Robin Williams in Man of the Year Essay Example For Students

Robin Williams in Man of the Year Essay In the 2006 film, Man of the Year, Robin Williams plays a comedic tv show host, Tom Dobbs who decides to run as a third party candidate for president when a member of the audience jokingly suggests it. Dobbs is liked by many and very popular due to his television show causing him to have many supporters in the election. He went to schools, towns and other public areas to promote his candidacy. During the presidential debates he broke the rules and gave a speech to persuade the American people to vote for him. While running for president he falls in love with Eleanor Green, a women that worked for Stewart, owner of Delacroy. Delacroy is a new system of voting through the internet. Despite the doubt Dobbs campaign manager, Jack Menken had, Dobbs won the election. Before Eleanor met Dobbs she found an error while testing the Delacroy system. She learned that the winner of the test elections as not actuate to the amount of votes she had for the loser. She reported the problem to the president, Steward who told her the problem was only on her computer. They were worried that she would tell the public of the faults with the Delacroy system so they drugged her to make her seem crazy. Once Tom Dobbs won the election she told him the truth that he wasnt really the president. Dobbs had to make choice of wether to tell the American people that he wasnt president or continue to act as Americas elected president. He decided to make the right choice and give up being the president. I personally think that it is possible for a man like Thomas Dobbs to become elected as president in America. Many people like him and support him on his tv show. His job is to talk about politics and many people end up agreeing with him by the end of the show. I also think it would be easy for him to become elected by his image. I believe that nowadays the true meaning behind voting is lost. Most people just vote because its a popularity contest. They for someone because they are a republican or a democrat but they understand what the candidate truly believes in. Thats why I believe people would vote for a man like Tom Dobbs, because they know his name and they know his face. There have been many man whom, like tom Dobbs, were a successful actor loved by the American people that seeked a job in politics. For example, the famous action movie actor in The Terminator and Predator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, was Californias 38th governor. Also Ronald Reagan Americas 40th president who stared in the popular General Electric Theater and Kings Row as well as many others. The reasoning behind their succession is likely due to their popularity and charisma. Just like in fist TV debate in 1960 between Kennedy and Nixon. Kennedy was more prepared and looked more presentable then Nixon most likely leading to his success in the election. Image and appearance has a lot to do with the election process and they know how to charm a crowd because of theyre experience in acting.
